This two-hour video covers all the activities of the Classic Thunder Nostalgia Drag Racing Circuit when it made its stop at the historic Ware Shoals Drag Strip in South Carolina. The track is the absolute perfect setting to hold a nostalgia drag race. It makes you feel like you are back in the day. An unbelievable turn out of cars ranging from dragsters, altereds, gassers, roadsters, coupes and door slammers turned out for the show. Our cameras take you into the pits where you see a wide variety of cars up close and meet some of the people who race them. We also catch the drag racing action on the track on both Friday and Saturday. Best of all though is that they run eliminations at night so you get to see all the header flames and neat nighttime shots. These historic cars look great under the lights. The racing program includes eliminator classes for Hot Rod, Classic Comp, A/G, B/G. C/G and Top Eliminator.
The event also featured a best of three match race between Jim Dickey and Don Roddy and their Supercharged Altered machines. These guys put on a show that will really impress you.
There were several 1970's style Funny Cars at the show and a best of three match race between Ernie Walkers Funny Vega and the Swensen and Lani '72 Mustang Funny Car took center stage. Round three of the race was unbelievable.
Rounding out the show were several exhibition runs by the legendary Rat Trap AA/Fuel Altered.
I have been reading about the Classic Thunder Shows for some time now and I had to check it out for myself. Man was I impressed. I had more fun at this show than any show I have been to in several years. And let me tell you these guys and gals race. No putt putting down the track, these cars honk.
