MUSCLECAR MADNESS 2005

                                 DVD #147

The fourth annual York US 30 Muscle Car Reunion was held in July 2005 and now you can experience what it was like to be there with this 2-hour production that covers all the activities.

This year's show brought together a fantastic group of famous racecars and a host of notable drag racing celebrities. Here is a partial list of the cars you will see: Bill Jenkins 1970 ½ Pro Stock Camaro, The Flintstone Flyer Packard Gasser, The Flintstone Flyer Lark Gasser, ten (10) Sox & Martin cars, Royal Pontiac S/S, Jungle Jim Vega Funny Car, Jungle Jim's Vega Pro Stock Wagon, Dick Landy P/S Dart, Casseday and Winward Brief Encounter FE/D, Bob Glidden's P/S Fairmont, The West Virginia Hillbilly Hemi Cuda, Carpinet Bros SS/AA Hemi Cuda, Bill Stiles SS/BA Hemi Cuda, Malicoat Bros '68 Cuda Funny Car and many, many more.

2005 marked the fiftieth anniversary for the '55 Chev and we had several at the show including Gene Moody's Gasser and the '55 that appeared in the movie Two Lane Blacktop. We did interviews with both owners and there is some interesting information included.

2005 also marked the Fortieth Anniversary of the 1965 S/S Nat's at York and we had three of the cars that competed at the event: Bud Faubel S/S Dodge, Jack Werst 5 & 50 Plymouth, and Ken Montgomery's 555 S/S Plymouth.

The Super Car Workshop of Latrobe Pa brought out a great selection of Yenko and Harrell super cars and we did an overview of the more noteworthy.

Interviews with: Bill Jenkins, Ronnie Sox, The Malicoat Twins, Cool Ritchie Travers (Wheelstander driver), Tom Raley (Top Fuel, Funny Car driver), Joe Jacono, Sam Auxier Jr., and Dave & Susie Koffel.

I also interviewed Bill Holz (Owner, York US 30) and Chub Lorah (Track Manager, York US 30) about the history of the track and some inside details about the 1965 Super Stock Nationals. Very Interesting!

Over 600 cars showed up for the outside curise-in and I did a tour around the show area and found several interesting people and stories. Good stuff!

I also traveled to Beaver Springs Dragway where many of the cars from the Reunion hit the track for some good old-fashioned drag racing at the second annual York US 30 Nostalgia Drags. I have included twenty minutes of coverage and it is all non-stop action. The highlight was a match race between Joe Jacono in his Rollin Stoned Funny Cuda and Bruce Larson's USA 1 Funny Camaro. What a show!

I have also used some flashback movie footage from the Bee On Video movie vault to link the present with the past. If you enjoyed the other York Productions you will most certainly enjoy the 2005 edition. This video is fully narrated with a story line that runs on top of the video action.
