MUSCLECAR MADNESS 2004

                                 DVD #145

The third annual York US 30 Muscle Car Reunion was held in July 2004 and now you can experience what it was like to be there with this 2-hour production that covers all the activities.

This year's show brought together a fantastic group of famous racecars and a host of notable drag racing celebrities.   Here is a partial list of the cars you will see:  Jungle Jim's Vega Pro Stock Wagon, Mr. 5 & 50 Hemi Plymouth, Mr. Tomato AWB 65 A/FX Dodge, Collingwood Motors '62 SD Pontiac, WIBG Pro Stock AMC, Bruce Larson USA 1 Camaro, The West Virginia Hillbilly Hemi Cuda, Bud Faubel's Hemi Honker Dodge, Sox & Martin Pro Stock Duster,  Norristown Ford 63 ½ Lightweight Ford,  Pete's Patriot AMX Super Stock Car,  Bill Jenkins Pro Stock Vega,  Bob Banning 64 Hemi Dodge,  Ken Montgomery's 65 Hemi Plymouth,  Bill Stiles SS/BA Hemi Cuda,  (3) Dave Strickler cars, Dick Harrell Flip Top Camaro Funny Car,  King & Marshall AA/FD rail,  Joe Jacono Rollin Stoned Cuda Funny Car,  Dave Hales Willys Gasser,  Hill Bros. Willys Gasser,  King Kong Anglia, Jim Oddy Austin, Ron Bizio Willys, The Winged Express AA/FA and many many more.  The Super Car Workshop of Latrobe Pa brought out a great selection of Yenko and Harrell super cars and we did an overview of the more noteworthy.

Interviews with:  Bill Jenkins, Mousie Marcellus, Wally Bell, Gordy Foust, Rich LaMont, Hayden Proffit, Judy Lilly, Earl Phillips, Dick Brannan, Lou Downing, Jim and Allison Lee, Nancy Wilson, George Cureton, Lou Sgro (DA Santucci tribute car) and Tom Sneden are also included.  I also had a chance to talk to Pork Zartman who drove the Hill & Zartman Filthy 40 Willys, famous drag racing photographer Jeff Tinsley and fiberglass manufacturer Dave Anderson of AI fiberglass.

I spent more time in the cruise-in area this year and found a great bunch of street rod's, customs and race cars.  I even found an old 70's funny car called the Mini Vette.  Owner Scott Meyers brought the BB Chev to life and shook up the fairgrounds.  I followed a 427 Chevelle on to the dyno testing station and was impressed with the amount of information you get from a test like this.

This year's show also included a Nostalgia Super Stock Shoot Out event at Beaver Springs Raceway and we take you there for a brief look at some of the action.  Our friend Tom Molyneaux did a full production of the event and you might want to check it out at:  www.ecn.homestead.com.

I have also used some flashback movie footage from the Bee On Video movie vault to link the present with the past.  If you enjoyed the other York Productions you will most certainly enjoy the 2004 edition.  This video is fully narrated with a story line that runs on top of the video action.
